Windows 7 Beta 1 Build 7000 On BitTorrent Leaked and NamiPan Download

Windows 7 beta 1 DVD ISO Torrent Download has been leaked. Tthe leak has been from Chinese County as well as Windows 7 Beta 1 has build 7000 (6.1.7000.0). Good news is that the Windows 7 Beta 1 Build 7000 is available as DVD ISO image which far easier to install. it's a bit more stable than the versions people have been playing with for a few months. Hit the links below to get a copy, if you're OK with the fact that you're technically not supposed to have this just yet.

To download the Windows 7 Beta1 full ISO image, download the following torrent to download the content in any BT client:

Demonoid Link: Windows_7_Beta_1_7000_0_081212_1400_iso_o-Demonoid.com-o.torrent

Another alternative way to download is by using Namipan file hosting (net disk or web drive space) service. Namipan is a China based file hosting service. As the Windows 7 Beta1 full DVD ISO is in hot demand, the HTTP download has been disabled. Thus, those who intends to download the ISO through Namipan must download NamiRobot (some interface in English, mostly in Chinese), which also serves as a peer-to-peer (P2P) downloader. Download and install the NamiRobot by using one of the direct download links below:

The beta expires July 1, 2009

Update: ZDNet also has a look at the beta over here, and they concur that it's pretty good:

# This beta is of excellent quality. This is the kind of code that you could roll out and live with. Even the pre-betas were solid, but finally this beta feels like it’s “done.” This beta exceeds the quality of any other Microsoft OS beta that I’ve handled.

Versace hotel to refrigerate beach in dubai

A LUXURY hotel in Dubai is to create the first refrigerated beach so hotel guests can walk comfortably across the sand on scorching days.
The Palazzo Versace fashion house will have a network of pipes beneath the sand containing a coolant that will absorb heat from the surface.

The swimming pool will be refrigerated and there are also proposals to install giant blowers to waft a gentle breeze over the beach.

"We will suck the heat out of the sand to keep it cool enough to lie on," said Soheil Abedian, founder and president of Palazzo Versace.
"This is the kind of luxury that top people want."

The 10-storey hotel will have 213 rooms, several with their own internal swimming pools, plus 169 apartments. Fifteen more such hotels are planned.

The refrigerated beach is designed to give Versace the edge in this battle of luxury lifestyles. The system will be controlled by thermostats linked to computers.

Stolen iphone found through Mobile Me

A thief who stole an iPhone was caught after contacts he added to the device were synced to the owner’s MobileMe account.

TUAW reader Rob recounts that his iPhone was pinched while he was at the dry cleaners. But the thief failed to wipe the device, using it as it was to take advantage of Rob’s contract.

Meanwhile Rob purchased a new phone, only to find that strange new contacts began appearing in the Address Book. It transpired that the thief was adding these to the stolen iPhone, apparently unaware that they would be synced to Rob’s MobileMe account.

“It didn't take long for me to realise that MobileMe was leading me right to the thief!,” Rob told TUAW, which picks up the story.

“Rob made quick work of wrangling a name and phone number from the provided contacts, supplying the police with everything they needed to get Rob his phone back. By the end of the night, he had his original iPhone in his possession,” says the website’s Brett Tepstra.

Rob is currently auctioning the restored phone on Ebay.

epson builds world's smallest real-time clock modules

Epson has built real-time clock modules that are no bigger than a grain of rice.

Measuring a maximum of only 3.4mm x 1.7mm x 1.0mm, Epson claims the devices are the world's smallest real-time clock modules with a built-in crystal unit.

The clocks will find applications in all manner of electrical devices, ranging from digital cameras to health care products to factory automation equipment.

Not only will the micro-clocks make it easier for manufacturers to create even smaller devices, but they'll draw less power, too. The clock will draw as little as 0.22A while on standby.

"Epson's culture of innovation has delivered a product that can help our customers meet strong demand for thin, space-saving, low-power portable products," said Stefan Hartmann, senior manager of Epson's Quartz division. "Dramatically reducing the energy consumption of all our products, while improving quality, is one of the commitments set out in Epson's Environmental Vision 2050".

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 gets almost official

As rumored earlier this month, the card packs two 55-nanometer GT200 GPUs, a staggering 1,792MB of video memory, a total of 480 stream processors, TDP rating of 289 watts. What's more, folks at bit-tech were able to run a few benchmarks on the card and found that it does indeed seem to live up to its promise of besting ATI's top-end Radeon HD 4870 X2. That appears to partly back up those early numbers that leaked out yesterday, although bit-tech is quick to point out that the card doesn't deliver the same performance leap seen when AMD rolled out its card. Hit up the link below for bit-tech's complete numbers, plus a few more.

software unlock for the iPhone 3G

iPhone Dev Team have successfully created a software unlock for the iPhone 3G that should free owners to use the handset iphone3g on any carriers

The hack, code-named "yellowsn0w," is currently being packaged into a user-friendly application with the simplicity provided by similar tools such as the PwnageTool jailbreaking assistant and BootNeuter baseband unlocker.

An public release is slated for December 31st, New Year's Eve.

The unlock will require a jailbroken iPhone 3G that's running baseband version 2.11.07 or earlier. To ensure that an iPhone preserves an unlockable version of the baseband, the Dev Team recommends that users refrain from using the QuickPwn tool or applying any of Apple's iPhone software updates that aren't already supported by the PwnageTool jailbreaking app.

As per iphone dev team "Sometime before Christmas, MuscleNerd will show a live demo of the unlock (and some other random nucleus and pwnage stuff). It’ll be streamed live via the awesome Qik application, and announced via his Twitter account just as the broadcast begins."

will keep you guys updated regarding iphone 3g unlock

Remote control gun helicopter-r/c

A big remote-controlled helicopter with a .45 pistol attached to the front. Yes, it's flying death, controlled from afar, and it's terrifying.

There's not a lot of info on just who was crazy enough to put this thing together, but they obviously know what they're doing. The next step should obviously be putting a camera on it and a screen on the controller, allowing you to go hunting in the woods from the comfort of your living room, sending out some retrieval robots to pick up your kills for you. It's called being an outdoorsman in the 21st century.

Ovation iDea, world's first mp3-recording guitar

Techno-guitarmaker Ovation just came up with another great idea. This one's aptly named the Ovation iDea, the first guitar ever equipped with a built-in mp3 recorder, snagging your best ideas anytime. Besides recording your playing, it can play back a song so you can play along, and also slows down the music without changing the key, making it easier to learn a song.

There's also a built-in condenser microphone, letting you record vocals along with your guitar playing. You can also repeat or loop a track for continuous practicing along with previously recorded music. When you're done recording, there's a USB port that lets you transfer your recordings to a Mac or PC.

Either way, there's a lot of good tech inside for $600, great for rehearsing. Click Continue for a larger pic of this handsome axe:

LED-embedded Catwalk-Sidewalks of the future:

The LED-embedded sidewalk of the future is here. These steel Catwalk modules have sparkling arrays of LEDs lighting your path, giving your sidewalk that glamorous look . The panels come in three sizes: 2-foot and 4-foot square, and 2' x 4'.

You can get them now (at an undisclosed price) with white LEDs inside, but if that's not quite glitzy enough, soon the Catwalk will be available with gaudy color-cycling LEDs.

Sleek Tima Watch shows off the beauty design

The Tima Watch, by French designer Julien Bergignat. It's a simple, sleek watch that tells you what you need to know about the date and time in either digital or analog, and looks damn good doing it. We especially like how big the watch face is, and there's just something cool and retro about the pixel-blocks that make up the numbers and hands.

Tima is just a concept at this time

LightSpeed Binoculars allows you to see, speak and hear

LightSpeed Binoculars by Torrey Pines Logic seem to be able to do anything. They act as binoculars, but also as short-range communication devices for sharing information covertly. Using infrared LEDs, two people looking at one another through a pair of LightSpeeds would also be able to talk and swap video data, thanks to embedded USB and Ethernet adapters and receivers. It's no wonder that Torrey Pines Logic enjoys a list of military clients including US and foreign special forces teams as the transmitted information is untappable and tamper-proof.

The company doesn't see its crazy talkie-binoculars as only being useful to those in the military. Leo Volfson, president of Torrey Pines Logic, hope the binoculars will be a boon at airports where ground-based communication can be difficult, or anywhere where a lack of communication systems reliant on cables are cumbersome.

Buy and Activate an iPhone 3G At Home . wow

According to Boy Genius and Gadgetell, AT&T is now finally offering home activation for the iPhone 3G. Before, it was necessary to go into an Apple or AT&T store for activation, but no more.

That means that Xmas iPhone receipts will be much more pleasant. Interestingly, home activation only appears to be working if you order from AT&T's website—as of this writing, Apple's site is still directing you to the stores for purchase.

Driving slow makes Smart Speed Bump Flat

According to designers Jae-yun Kim & Jong-Su Lee, the bump would rely on "retractors that open up if the impact on them is small enough." In other words, if you are driving slow, the weight of the car would flatten the bump. Drive too fast and the bump would stay active.
Well what a relief , now dont half to do zigzag on the bumps as it's a lowride.

Using an array of low-end kit -- just an eBox 2300 embedded computer, Logitech webcam, 4- x 3-foot mirror, a VGA projector, pool table and a few extenders -- the two were able to concoct a system for visually displaying the expected trajectory of all possible shots based on the location of the balls still on the slate.

I-Station25 iPhone, iPod speakers by Logic3

The UK's Logic3 has recently launched its i-Station25 portable speakers meant to work with Apple's iPhone and iPod touch. The i-Station 25 includes an accelerometer that will adjust the output of the speakers to output at the correct left and right separation when users turn it 90 degrees to better view photos or videos stored on their connected Apple device. The four built-in speakers deliver a total of 8W RMS of power, and each is sized at nearly 1.6 inches. The buzzing noise heard in speakers right before an incoming call is suppressed with the use of TDMA noise distortion circuitry.

The i-Station25 also has a composite video output, allowing videos stored on the Apple device to play on a user's TV set as well. The included remote control will control the speaker system's operation, as well as basic functions of the iPhone or iPod. An auxiliary input lets users connect a wider range of portable audio players, including MP3 and CD players. Power for the i-Station25 comes either via an AC adapter or four AA batteries.

The i-Station25 is available in the UK market now, priced at the equivalent of about $102.

Unbreakable electronic displays, bendable demo by HP and ASU

Nearly four years after Arizona State University opened its very own flexible display center comes this, a prototype device that's purportedly easy to manufacture, easy on the environment and practically as strong as Thor. HP and ASU have teamed up to demonstrate the fresh e-displays, which are constructed almost entirely of plastic and consume far less power than traditional computer monitors. The "unbreakable displays" were crafted using self-aligned imprint lithography (SAIL) technology invented in HP Labs, and while we'd love to see this in a pliable laptop at CES 2009, we suspect it'll be a few years yet before these slither out to the commercial realm.

iPhone TV-out capabilities experimented by freeFreeverse

Freeverse has dabbled with an undocumented iPhone SDK feature that allows apps to use the TV-out function, according to Ars Technica. The developer applied the MPTVOutWindow class to its Moto Chaser game, creating a demo that played on an external display. Users still control the vehicle by tilting the device, but view the racing action on a TV instead of the touchscreen. The experience also benefits from the sound output routing to the TV or other A/V system.

The game ran best on the second-generation iPod touch, reaching a rate of 20 frames per second and considered "almost playable" by Freeverse producer Bruce Morrison. The public release of Moto Chaser for the iPhone includes a variety of optimizations that allow a rate of 26 frames per second.

The demo was created with less than a day's work at Freeverse, but lacks a main menu and throttle button. The company experimented with the TV-out feature solely to create a technology preview, and has no plans to integrate the API until Apple documents it in future SDKs. "We only use approved Apple methods and approved frameworks in our programs," Morrison said.

The performance would also need to increase before the public will see a TV-out version in the App Store. "Our video methods have room to improve, and we're positive we can bring up that frame rate with time and work," Morrison added. "But we won't release anything at 20 frames per second."

Wireless Outdoor Speakers

The ZipConnect Wireless Outdoor Speakers are great for using outside, especially with your iPod, but it works with any MP3 player, CD player, and even satellite radio, it just needs a headphone jack.

The set comes with two speakers, which are weatherproof, which does not mean they are waterproof. Don’t expect audiophile quality sound, but it should be enough, and there’s bass boost, but that’s about as advanced as the options get.

Your iPod is housed in a little box, also weatherproof, that has the ZipConnect Module, which will connect and charge your iPod, but will also connect any other MP3 player.

The included wireless remote allows you to control volume, and auto-scan frequency tuning. The remote is powered by 2 AA batteries, the speakers, however, require much more power; you’ll need 6 C batteries/speaker or use the included AC adapter if you’ve got a plug handy.

The wireless part operates at a 900 MHz frequency, and the device has a range of up to 150 feet, but for the best quality, the closer is the better.

The ZipConnect Wireless Outdoor speakers don’t provide audiophile quality sound, but it’s good enough for an average user, and with the great iPod support (it’ll charge it), it’s a pretty good buy. It’s available from Amazon for $170.

Scintillating 3D lamps built of electroluminescent wire and mirrors

Marcus Tremento is has an original lighting idea here. He's created LD Sconces, intriguing lighting fixtures that conjure up uncanny 3D effects with glowing wire. Bending neon-like pieces of cool-running electroluminescent wire into familiar shapes and then combining them with a mirror-like backdrop, the artist proves himself to be quite the illusionista.

Those rings of light just go half-way around — the other half is just their reflection. Remarkable. Globes and chandeliers. No pricing is noted, and these works of art are only available in limited editions of 20, so they're bound to be pricey.

Pole Dancing Robots

The latest is a troop of pole dancing robots (yes, as in stripper) equipped with CCTV heads. The full-motion robots were recently unveiled at the Mutate Britain, Behind the Shutters Gallery in London. Artist Giles Walker perfectly meshed the UK's new national symbol (the CCTV) with robotics in a way that almost makes their Orwellian future sexy. You can check out the sexed up robots in action Here

Ericsson tests super-speedy wireless network

Network-building heavyweight Ericsson took a big step toward that super-fast wireless goal today, making the first data call at an industry-first 21Mbps (megabits per second) speed with its Telstra Next G commercial network, using speedy tech called HSPA Evolution. Best of all, this is just the first step of HSPA Evolution, promising future speeds four times that fast.

How fast is 21Mbps? Considering that a really good wired broadband connection in the U.S. will download data at around 15Mbps, and the average download speed for wired broadband in this country is 8.9Mbps, a wireless 21Mbps speed is a huge improvement. It's certainly going to be a gigantic speed leap above the relatively pokey 3G speeds of today. Ericcson says a full commercial launch of this new network starts early next year.
